Did you know that October 20th was World Statistics Day? Not a lot of people know that – apart from quantity surveyors, actuaries and civil servants in the Office for National Statistics (ONS). QS’s are very special and wonderful people who make the construction industry tick, so no further comment needed - but as for actuaries, keep well clear unless you work for a life insurance company or want to know when you’re going to die (see later).
